Analysis on Business Marketing

â€Å"Everything is worth what its buyer will pay for it. † This expression was said numerous hundreds of years prior is as yet worth today. Whenever client, in truth these clients whose expenses are driven by what they buy, progressively hope to buying as an approach to build benefits and in this manner compel providers to decrease costs. A genuine model next to the one in the article is the point at which you are going to purchase a vehicle and you begin looking about what vehicle vendor is the best for you to purchase yours. How might you choose which of the sellers it's the best for you, it is a decent inquiry. A developing number of providers have made a client esteem models, that is close to information driven portrayals, of the value in financial terms, of what the providers are going to could accomplish for its clients. I have been discussing values, yet what they are and what esteems are ready to go is what I will clarify at this moment. In business advertise values are the value in money related type of the specialized, financial, administration and social advantages any client gets in return at the cost it pays for a market offering. A case of significant worth in money related term is dollars per unit, guilders per liter, or kroner every hour. Then again, benefits are close to in which any costs a client acquires in getting the longing benefits, with the exception of price tag, are incorporated. Lastly esteem is the thing that a client gets in return at the cost it pays. Truth be told, esteem is one of the two essential attributes of showcasing offer; the other one is cost. Field esteem evaluations that is the most ordinarily and precise strategy used to assemble client esteem models. This worth is utilized to gather information about client esteem models. Nonetheless, if the field esteem doesn't work providers utilize immediate and backhanded study question and center gatherings. As everything in our life, the first occasion when you accomplish something is the most troublesome. To begin with the client esteem model the principal thing a provider need to do is to assembled the correct sort of significant worth research group. In this group ought to be incorporated the individuals with the item, builds in the predetermined field, and individuals with advertising experience. This last choice is significant on the grounds that it is extremely imperative to have individuals who know the client perspective. The following stage is to realize the correct market portion. Knowing this, the providers make a base with in any event twelve clients to fabricate an underlying worth model. At that point it is a decent an ideal opportunity to produce a thorough rundown of significant worth components. These components will be the one that influences the expenses and advantages of the contribution in the client's business. The components could be specialized, financial, administration or social in nature and will fluctuate in their substantial quality. However, providers must be cautiously on looking at which components left, particularly those that may make the providers' market offering look ominous close to the following best-elective contribution will sabotage the activities validity. By knowing however many components as would be prudent the group will have the option to decide all the more precisely the distinction in usefulness and execution its offers gives comparative with the following best-elective. More often than not the clients don't realize that they have the information data that the providers are searching for. Some time the best way to discover this information is for the colleagues to make an inquiry or two until they go over the individual who realizes where to discover the data. These groups likewise should be inventive in finding different wellsprings of data. Free industry experts or educated work force in the provider organization can be acceptable wellsprings of beginning assessments. The solace with which group can set up financial evaluations for its worth components will shift. All things considered, most providers don't endeavors to dole out financial adds up to social components. Rather, they put those components and examine them with the client in a subjective manner in the wake of introducing quantitative outcomes. A case of this is the Qualcomm Company, that not relegate money related adds up to some less-unmistakable components yet at the same time remembers them for its examination as â€Å"value placeholders. † In any field esteem evaluations, the providers will locate that a few suppositions must be made so as to finish an investigation. It is basic to providers to be unequivocal about any presumptions it makes. In the event that a client doesn't have the foggiest idea how or why the group relegated a specific incentive to a component, the provider's believability will be undermined. In the wake of building the underlying worth model the providers ought to approve it, by directing extra appraisals with different clients in the market portion. Doing this the provider will likewise figure out how the worth its contribution give fluctuates across sorts of clients. The provider will likewise need to make esteem based deal devices. One normal deal device is a worth case history, which is close to composed records that report the costs investment funds or included worth that a client get from its employments of a provider advertise offering. Presently it is a decent an ideal opportunity to put a comprehension of significant worth to utilize. A decent method to do this is utilizing the provider information to tailor advantageous help, projects and frameworks in its present market offering and to direct the advancement of new contributions. An organization's capacity to oversee adaptable markets contributions effectively lay on its comprehension of the worth every segment of a contribution makes just as its partners cost. Recognizing and dispensing with esteem channels bring about better allotment of assets and improved benefit. Picking up client is one more of the means of this task. Knowing about how the market offers explicitly convey an incentive to client empowers providers to make influential suggestions. By giving proof to clients of the organization's achievements, providers exhibit their reliability and pledge to clients. Along these lines clients feel increasingly fearless with the organization they are working with. Understanding an incentive in business is the pith of client esteem the board. It is likewise useful for conveying predominant qualities and acquire an impartial return for it. Presently are you prepared to pick your vehicle's seller.

Everythings coming up Milhouse!

Everythings coming up Milhouse! DID YOU KNOW? Madonna is 48 years old. Seriously. Guys, I need a favor, okay? You have to remind me to enter the PE Lottery, which starts tomorrow. Ive forgotten to do it for nine of the past ten quarters. Yes, okay, its true that you can just show up on the first day for any class and as long as its not something really popular like Pistol or Yoga, theyll probably find room for you. But my universe tends toward disorder, and usually the entropy of activation required for that process is just too high for me to muster. Dont you forget to enter it either, Class of 2010! As DAPER says, Successful students complete 4 six-week classes during their Freshman year. That must make me a failure. Good thing I have Mollie to cheer me up. Everythings a little bit bittersweet here, because most of the interns who have been here for three to five months are heading home at the end of August. Its been great getting to know all these people from all these different countries and showing them that people in the US arent always as dumb as we look. But the sadness of ending has been tempered by three things: 1. Today was crepe day in the cafeteria. 2. Tomorrow all six hundred people at my site have to go to some workshop, so my normally very German boss gave me the day off. 3. On Thursday, my last day of work, were having another party with cakes and coffee. Not to celebrate my leaving, or anything in particulate, but just because my boss felt like it. And for you guys, everything is just beginning, huh? Well, dont have any fun at MIT until I get back next Monday. Just playin. Enjoy all the times youre having right now with all your orientation buddies! Because youll never talk to them again once classes start. No, seriously. There was this one guy who I met on my first day of MIT through this other girl in my orientation group. It was right when we were getting out of Playfair. He played French Horn. Hey, I played French Horn too! So, as we took a tour of Simmons that night we had about 30 minutes of French Horn-related conversation, which is enough time to exhaust most of the finer points of that topic. Then I went home, presumably to get some sleep but actually to grab some midnight pizza with Ruth 07 and two really friendly upperclassmen guys who didnt live in the dorm but nevertheless wanted to get to know me better. So French Horn Guy and I spent the next five semesters greeting each other awkwardly at chance meetings in the Infinite or on Amherst Alley or in the burrito line at Annas, but we never said anything more than that. The greetings ran the gamut from the polite, formal Hello. to a familiar-sounding Hey! to occasionally, on particularly nice days, Hi Sam! and Hi Ian! But nothing else. No Hows it going? Because I dont think either of us really cared. Sometimes we did that really uncomfortable Oh shoot, maybe he didnt see me, let me look over HEY THATS A REALLY INTERESTING POSTER FOR MIT 50K thing. We didnt even become Facebook friendsbut thats probably only because Facebook didnt really take hold of MIT until the next April. Finally, last semester we saw each other in the infinite and I decided that French Horn Guy and I needed to reevaluate our relationship. So as I walked by, I very politely stared him down. And he just looked at me and didnt say anything. And that was that. We were over. Again, a little bittersweet. But one less thing to worry about as Im walking down the Infinite with Falafel dripping out of my mouth. So see that Freshman guy you just met an hour ago whos sitting on your bed looking at your high school yearbook? Thats him in two years.

Venezuela`s Economy Essays - Northern South America, Venezuela

Venezuela`s Economy Venezuela is rich in oil and other mineral resources. Its per capita income is about average for Latin America. The country's public external debt (excluding the obligations of the central bank and PDVSA, the parastatal oil company) stood at approximately $26.5 billion in 1996. The economy grew by 4.5% in real terms in 1997. Consumer prices rose only 37.6% in 1997 compared to the record 103% of 1996. The government is hoping for inflation of 24% during 1998. The Venezuelan economy is making a comeback under the Agenda Venezuela, propelled primarily by the opening of the petroleum sector to foreign investment (the "apertura"), a far-reaching privatization program, and plans to reform public sector operations. Oil prices have shown a continual decline since 1996, which is serving to erode the budgetary surplus from 4.5% in 1996 to an estimated 1.5% in 1997. In July 1996, the Venezuelan Government and the IMF formally announced a $1.4 billion stand-by loan. The World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank are also contributing to efforts to promote fundamental structural reforms--in the judiciary, electoral system, and social security/severance pay programs. Petroleum and Other Resources Venezuela's economy is dominated by petroleum, and the country is a founding member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). In 1997, this sector accounted for more than one-quarter of GDP, almost three-quarters of export earnings, and almost half of central government's revenues. Most of Venezuela's energy exports consist of crude oil, but the country is also the United States' leading foreign source of refined petroleum products. The Government of Venezuela has opened up much of the hydrocarbon sector to foreign investment, promoting the establishment of massive new petrochemical joint ventures and reactivation of inactive fields. The Venezuelan petroleum corporation and foreign oil companies signed eight contracts for exploration and production joint ventures in July 1996. These contracts are expected to generate over $15 billion in foreign investment. A range of other natural resources, including iron ore, diamonds, coal, bauxite, hydroelectric power, gold, and nickel are in various stages of development. In 1996, CVG, the state-owned mining firm, announced its first joint venture with a foreign company to develop the Las Cristinas gold mine. Congress is also considering legislation which would update Venezuela's 1945 mining law in an effort to encourage greater private sector participation in mineral extraction. Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Trade Manufacturing contributed 15.6% of GDP in 1997. The manufacturing sector grew slightly (2.2%) in direct contrast with the contraction in 1996. Venezuela manufactures and exports steel, aluminum, textiles, apparel, beverages, and foodstuffs. It also produces cement, tires, paper, and fertilizers, and assembles cars for both the domestic and export market. The "Agenda Venezuela" envisions the privatization of a range of state-owned enterprises, including banks. Agriculture accounts for 4% of GDP, 12% of the labor force, and 24% of Venezuela's land area. Venezuela exports beef, rice, coffee, and cocoa. However, the country is not self-sufficient in most areas of agricultural production and imports about 60% of food consumed. In 1996, U.S. firms exported approximately $475 million of agricultural products including wheat, soybeans, corn, soymeal, and cotton to Venezuela, our third-largest agricultural export market in Latin America. The U.S. usually accounts for slightly more than a third of Venezuela's food imports. Thanks to petroleum exports, Venezuela usually posts a trade surplus. In recent years, non-traditional (i.e. non-petroleum) exports have been growing rapidly but still constitute only about one-fourth of total exports. The United States is Venezuela's leading trade partner. During the first 10 months of 1997, the United States registered $3.0 billion in exports (about 38% of Venezuela's total) and purchased $12.9 billion in imports (about 55% of Venezuela's total). Venezuela's trade with other Andean Pact members, particularly Colombia, is growing in importance. Labor and Infrastructure Venezuela's labor force of about 8.8 million is growing faster than total employment. At the end of 1997, official unemployment was 12.8%, but unofficial estimates are higher. The public sector employs 14% of the work force, while less than 1% work in the capital-intensive oil industry. About 25% of the labor force is unionized. Unions are particularly strong in the public sector. Venezuela has an extensive road system. With the exception of air service, transportation and communications have failed to keep pace with the country's needs. Much of the infrastructure suffers from inadequate maintenance. Caracas has a modern subway, but only one functioning rail line serves the rest of the country. Economical indicators GDP (1997 est.): $72.1 billion. Growth rate (1997): 4.5%. GDP per capita: $3,164. Natural resources: Petroleum, natural gas, coal, iron ore, gold, other minerals, hydroelectric power, bauxite. Agriculture (4.7%

Ancient Roman Water Systems

Ancient Roman Water Systems Ann Olga Koloski-Ostrow, a Brandeis classicist who has studied the Roman latrine, says, There are no ancient sources where you can really learn about daily life[...] You have to come upon information almost by chance. That means its hard to answer all the questions or to say with any confidence that this bit of information about the bathroom habits of the Roman Empire applies to the Republic as well. With that caution, here is some of what we think we know about the water system of ancient Rome. Roman Aqueducts The Romans are renowned for engineering marvels, among which is the aqueduct that carried water for many miles in order to provide a crowded urban population with relatively safe, potable water, as well as less essential but very Roman aquatic uses. Rome had nine aqueducts by the time of the engineer Sextus Julius Frontinus (c. 35–105), appointed curator aquarum in 97, our main ancient source for the water supply. The first of these was built in the fourth century B.C. and the last in the first century A.D. Aqueducts were built because the springs, wells, and Tiber River were no longer providing the safe water that was needed for the swelling urban population. Aqueducts Listed by Frontinus: In 312 B.C., the Appia Aqueduct was built 16,445 meters long.Next was the Anio Verus, built between 272-269, and 63,705 meters.Next was the Marcia, built between 144-140 and 91,424 meters. The next aqueduct was the Tepula, built in 125, and 17,745 meters. The Julia was built in 33 B.C. at 22,854 meters. The Virgo was built in 19 B.C., at 20,697 meters. The next aqueduct is the Alsientina, whose date is unknown. Its length is 32,848.The last two aqueducts were built between 38 and 52 A.D. Claudia was 68,751 meters. The Anio Novus was 86,964 meters. The Drinking Water Supply Water did not go to all residents of Rome. Only the rich had private service and the rich were as likely to divert and hence, steal, the water from the aqueducts as anyone. Water in residences only reached the lowest floors. Most Romans got their water from a constantly running public fountain. Baths and Latrines Aqueducts also supplied water to public latrines and baths. Latrines served 12-60 people at once with no dividers for privacy or toilet paper only a sponge on a stick in the water to pass around. Fortunately, water ran through the latrines constantly. Some latrines were elaborate and may have been amusing. Baths were more clearly a form of entertainment as well as hygiene. Sewers and The Cloaca Maxima When you live on the 6th floor of a walk-up with no latrine for blocks, the chances are youll use a chamber pot. What do you do with its content? That was the question that faced many an insula dweller in Rome, and many answered in the most obvious way. They dumped the pot out the window onto any stray passerby. Laws were written to deal with this, but it still went on. The preferred act was to dump solids into sewers and urine into vats where it was eagerly collected and even bought by fullers who needed the ammonia in their toga cleaning business. The main sewer of Rome was the Cloaca Maxima. It emptied into the Tiber River. It was probably built by one of the Etruscan kings of Rome to drain the marshes in the valleys between the hills. Global Transportation Providers APL; OHL; COSCO Essay

Global Transportation Providers APL; OHL; COSCO - Essay Example OHL OHL is one of the largest third party logistic services providers in the world. It provides supply chain management services to top organizations of the world. Its services include transportation, custom brokerage, warehousing etc. Its tracking system is one of the most sophisticated in the world. Its shipment tracking system is based on GPS and EDI shipment tracking system and offer real time tracking system. OHL also does not provide facility to track the shipments online from any web browser whereas APL provides such facility. COSCO COSCO is relatively young company with over 25 years of experience in the industry. It uses an innovative and new technology to track its shipments. It serves mostly Asian markets including Japan, rest of Asia, North America and Europe. It manages IRIS-2 system which helps to manage its shipment tracking. It is considered as one of the most sophisticated systems in the industry. Advantages & Disadvantages One of the most important advantages of shipment tracking system for any transportation firm is the fact that it provides the company necessary flexibility as well as depth and breadth to mange cargos on large scales. Though most of the systems used by modern shipping companies are technology based therefore they enjoy the necessary advantages due to their technological superiority. As for as the system of APL is concerned, it is considered as one of the highly sophisticated and state of art system. In its essence, this is wireless system based on RFID. APL attaches RFID tags to most of its shipments to track their shipments. (Cox, 2006). However, the real draw back of this system is the fact the tags need to past certain posts in order to located therefore if a new container replaces another one the it may take a bit longer for the system to accurately give the real time location of the shipments based on their time. It is also important to understand that APL is also using WAVES which is based on a very complex technology which provides a much greater advantage over its competitors because it is not used by any other transportation firms in the world. This propriety use of a very complex and sophisticated system provide necessary competitive advantage. The shipment tracking system of OHL is a bit old and is considered as less sophisticated than APL. Based on GPS and EDI, this system is bit slower especially in terms of downloading the data from the real time location to the servers of the firm therefore accurate tracking takes slightly higher than other systems such as with APL. COSCO's system is supported by Sybase Inc. Sybase is one of the highly regarded company in terms of producing robust and sophisticated systems. COSCO adapted "Sybase's Adaptive Server Enterprise, Replication Server, Open Client and jConnect in its IRIS-2 System for data collection, storage, conversion, processing and analysis" (Connolly, 2008). The system employed by COSCON is much more sophisticated than the systems at APL and OHL. It not only provides a much more comprehensive tracking of the shipments but also enable COSCON to analyze the data on real time basis. However, it is also importan

The Constitution of the United States Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

The Constitution of the United States - Essay Example At the same time, the Constitution is not a book of statutes and so therefore overlapping interests have historically provided the crux of difficulties. As such, the Constitution may be said to be the very model of moderation in politics; it manages to make up for the absence of federal authority sorely lacking in the Articles of Confederation while at the same not avoiding the pitfalls of conferring such authority at the federal level that states have no access to redress grievances. The Constitution managed to achieve this tilting the balance of power into the middle ground between the federal and state levels. At the same time, the framers of the Constitution recognized that the primary failure of the Articles of Confederation was in giving too many rights to the states, leaving the federal government weak. The Constitution guaranteed that the ultimate power would rest in the hands of the federal government through the so-called "elastic clause" found in Article I, Section 8 of th e Constitution which endows the Congress with the power to "make all laws which shall be necessary and proper" to carry out its specific rights and responsibilities (Anderson 76). The separation of powers and the system of checks and balances is the single most useful aspect of the American democracy despite the fact it paradoxically seems to place limits upon the powers in charge. The necessity for placing limits on the three branches of government can be attributed expressly to the crucible in which the Constitution was drafted. The danger of not just executive tyranny, but also legislative and even judicious tyranny was ever present in the minds of those who had captured their freedom through the shedding of blood. The very concept of conferring authority upon a national government in which the legislative, executive, and judicial branches were connected and working dependently upon the other would mean too much concentrated power in too few hands. The writers of the Constitution instead looked to exploit the advantages of a fragmentary system of governance in which the three branches of the federal government work independently of each other, while at the same time being unable to act entirely on their own. The brilliance of the division of power within the federal government is that each branch has been given just enough power to make a difference, but not so much power as to be allowed to successfully give into the temptation of tyranny. Even today, in the atmosphere of an imperial President and lack of a strong legislative body, the idea that the President or Congress would actually engage in tyrannical methods seems far-fetched, but the framers of the Constitution who saw firsthand how absolute power could corrupt, it was truly a revolutionary leap forward. The limitations on power given to each of the three branches of government is known as the system of checks and balance and it is precisely the limits on power, rather then the authority given, that oils the machinery of democratic progress. Ambition has been counteracted by the placement of limits upon how much power the legislative, executive and judicial branches enjoy. For instance, the laws of American are created by Congress, but the President can use his veto power if he decides for some reason that the law is not just. At the same time the

Means To Strengthen National Schools Education Essay

Means To Strengthen National Schools Education Essay A national school is a government-sponsored school which the education is the responsibility of the federal government. The national school was to be provided to unite all races in our country. The education in Malaysia beginning with a national school system consists of Malay, Chinese, Tamil and English medium. Each medium used different instruction and syllabus. The syllabus which is being used originated from their country. They ran the school by their own and establish the school by using curricula and teachers from their country. In the 1950s, the Barnes Report suggested on the need to build national school that involved all races. This was the first time a report talked about nationality. But racial sprits were strong and totally rejected by Chinese community. By doing so, we can face many hurdles and obstacles if the vernacular schools still exist. The purpose of national school was set up is actually to promote unity, so that there would be peace and harmony in order that development can occur. Independent Malaysia must have a strong society to avoid racial conflicts or racial tension. For that to develop: There must be that self consciousness or sense of belongings or like-mindedness that must grow as people live together in a common territory, develop common interests, accumulate the same traditions, share the same ideas, ideals, modes of thinking and behavior. Education is the main based to create national unity because the step is necessary to encourage the producing of national school. By having the national school, several racial communities will be abolished. A view on the national school was that it should be bilingual which meant all students will be taught in English and Malay. English has been declared as a second language in Malaysia but Malay is the national language of Malaysia. So, all races will send their children in national school and they can introduce their society and culture without any barriers. There is no limitation when a race sits with another race to talk and to mingle each other because when they are in national school, spirit of unity will be planted in their selves. The communities still can keep on preserving their mother tongue by its own cultural educations. There are challenges and constraints facing the implementation of the national school. But it can be solved by improving the particular things that can raise the ability of national school such as relationship within the school, classroom approaches, parents and community and teacher education. Besides that, the school system is needed to change by doing reflective practice to improve national schools. Those things are essential to strengthen national schools. It is not easy to apply the ways but we can struggle on it to achieve the objective. All people should be involved to ensure the national school can run successfully. First of all, one of the opinions to toughen the national school is develop relationship within the school that is between teachers, between pupils and teachers, and between pupils themselves. When the kind of the environment is existed in the school, the communication between them will be guileless because pupils are tending to share their story with their teachers and their friends. Absolutely, everybody in the school needs each other to help them when they are in trouble. The teachers have to ask their pupils to learn together with them as teamwork. Clearly, the relationship is a further factor which determines the teachers to educate for a multicultural society. In addition, when pupils are given a task, the teachers should make explicit statement to not confuse them because they are needed to be guide. The teachers also can add some references and do a skeleton or draft for the task. Then explain to them and discuss together with them about the task. The teachers need to show to their students that they are listening and willing to help them if something they do not understand about their task or lesson. The teachers can ask their student to meet them inside or outside the school. Furthermore, another ways to strengthen the national school is classroom approach. The community in the school should give positive approach for everybody to practice their culture because national school is consisting on multiracial students. The aim is to allow the students to share their experiences about their society and culture. The teachers who are being a role model to their students have to start the variety of ways in emphasizing on learning about others culture. Pupil understands of cultural diversity within their own locale so it is a must for the teachers to expose the variety of culture to the students. By knowing others culture, it is important for national unity and there is a common value of tolerance and acceptability. The teachers can teach their students in the several of ethnic cultures in the country by referring on a curriculum that Malaysian needs as a society. For a best way of classroom approach, the teachers and the students should attempt to understand one another better, be sensitive towards the feelings of others, promote and preserve racial harmony and work together to achieve a strong unity. Moreover, parents and community are responsible in terms of national school development. They are responsible to encourage the value of unity to their children because they must worry about their children future and to unite, the students have to join with other races. Being teachers, it is compulsory for them to expose themselves to face-to-face interaction with parents to pertain the achievement of pupils. This is a good benefit for the national school to identify the problems of the students. Even though it is a risk for teachers but the profession has to take them so because they serve for the whole community. The involvement of teachers and parents can ensure that the environment of school always keep in safe and can comfort their students and children to learn in effective and convenient. It is essential for parents to check their childrens works and teachers need to respond wisely when parents ask for lend a hand to take care of their children. The teachers need to provide all the records of their students achievement to give to the parents. Honest information about the achievement can remain closed to parents and students as well as the teachers. The community has minor duty to make sure that the school working is concern by them for the implementations of national school such as if have any problems during outside school, the community can consult the parents or the teachers of the students. This is show how the parents and community are related each other in developing national schools. On the other hand, teacher education is one of the ways to strengthen the national school. Being under the national school system, the teachers are in higher education which needs to equip on multicultural education to improve the students unity. It is a difficult job but after chose the profession it is the responsibility of these people to educate the future generation with the right values and moral standards. Today as Ismail Mansur and Mohd. Azaham said in their book, The Malays, teaching is an occupation which is slowly regarded and poorly rewarded (2001:95). The lots of teachers must be improved. They have to think how to provide high quality teaching to teach in national school because in the school, there are many different familys backgrounds which they do not know either good or not. While teaching, teachers can adopt multicultural environment to heighten education between their students. The teachers, within their selves must have lots of information because students nowad ays are advance than previous students. Sometimes they know better than the teachers. So, in order to avoid this happen, the teachers need to add some general knowledge and in-depth knowledge about their specific subject. In teaching, the teachers must well qualify dedicated. They should know what need to be learnt and continue with effective and relevant lesson. In a national school, learning needs reflection. From an organizational perspective, reflective practice is considered a powerful norm in school in order to achieve high levels of student learning (Hawley Valli, 2000; Kruse, Louis, Bryk, 1995). Reflective practice is a feedback from one another to others as teachers and student to continuous learning and improvement. A commitment to reflective practice indicates a willingness to accept responsibility for ones professional practice (Ross, 1990). It is positive impact on student learning because it can produce a great achievement to the students by knowing their strength and weaknesses. After that, the teachers can play their role to correct the students by giving extra exercises or give further explanation about the task. Reflective practice provides a way to understand and make sense of the world (Brubacher, Case, Reagan, 1994, p. 36). By having reflective practice in the national school, it can increase the potential of school to achieve the success. By doing the reflection, the teachers and the students can share their opinion in certain topics that need critical thinking and new knowledge are created. The relationship between the classroom and the teachers become strong because they share same improvement to move forward in term of education. As conclusion, by having national school, all races in Malaysia can be united under one nation because education is only way to unity. However, it is not easy but we can overcome the problem by taking useful action to strengthen national school. At first we have relationship within the school and then provide more ways to toughen the national school such as classroom approaches, parents and community, teacher education and reflective practice. These are necessary things in improving the national school because for only the ways our national schools can performance better to attract all races to send their children only in national school. For unity to be achieved in the national school, all boundaries of race, religion and culture should be cut. We are together build one nation that everyone is related to one another. For learning in the national school, education is given equally to all the students without any bias. The teachers have to be dedicated and committed in teaching their students because they are useful for our country for the future. A strong belief that the national school is a place where it can produce a student who can adopt any culture in their daily life and a place where is able to play their role effectively by performance wholehearted in a one nation that is unity.

“How Does Boey Kim Cheng Powerfully Convey His Attitude to the Planners in the Poem?” Essay

The Planners is a poem where Boey Kim Cheng describes how the planners effect the nature in a negative way. He talks about how every single thing is constructed to the point of perfection, where seeming human is a mistake. History is erased to make way for buildings made of glass and steel. Boey Kim Cheng portrays his distaste and disapproval of the planners in the poem and uses an accusatory tone to point out how they’re craving and planning for perfection. And this is shown in the first three lines of the second stanze where the poet writes â€Å"They erase the flaws, the blemishes of the past, knock off useless blocs with dental dexterity.† Their objectives of erasing the imperfections of the past is unnatural. As the mistakes we’ve made in history make us what we are today, and our imperfections are what makes us human. The use of the word ‘blemishes’ conveys something negative. Blemishes are something you usually have on your body, something people vehemently try to get rid off by using countless methods to seem attractive to another. The use of the phrase â€Å"useless blocks† is almost offensive because who are the planners to decide which parts of our history, our past are of no use? The second stanza uses and extended metaphor for the country described in the poem with teeth, words such as ‘dental dexterity’, ‘shining teeth’, ‘anaesthesia’, ‘piling’ and ‘drilling’ are used. Here, the Planners obsession with perfection is emphasized, flaws are erased, useless parts (useless teeth) are knocked off, even the ‘blemishes of the past’. The Planners here are even trying to perfect their imperfect past, a near impossible feat. ‘All gaps are plugged with gleaming gold’, wealth and prosperity is used to cover up imperfections of the country, and it is made to be perfect in every way possible, wearing ‘perfect rows of shining teeth’. However, even if everything of the present is perfect, they will not stop, even trying to alter their history.

Description of the US and Canadian Smart Action Border Plan Free Essay Example, 2500 words

Lieberman, in a report, emphasized that the Canadian border should be more secure as there are more extremist Islamist families living in Canada. Border patrolling dates back to as early as 1904, when mounted watchmen patrolled the border to prevent illegal Chinese immigrants. Now, border security is just not limited to patrolling watchmen, but also includes biometric scans, lasers, virtual fence, cameras, motion detectors, and sensors. On December 12, 2001, Canada and the US signed the Smart Border Action Plan (SBAP) to enhance the security of their shared border. The Action Plan focuses on four key elements: the secure flow of people, the secure flow of goods, secure infrastructure, and information sharing and coordination in the enforcement of these objectives. The key factors of the SBAP emphasized on raising the standard of the biometrics involved and a compatible technology to read it. Fingerprints, drivers license/passport, and facial recognition have been selected as the mos t standard form of biometrics. Production of passports with embedded biometrics was initiated by the US in early 2005. The Canadian government issued permanent resident cards including laser engraved photograph and signatures that makes it one of the most fraud-resistant documents in the world. On November 30, 2004, the two countries began piloting the NEXUS-Air program at Vancouver International Airport (VIA), British Columbia. NEXUS-Air uses iris recognition biometric technology (identifies an individual based on the unique pattern of their iris), which makes the US security even stronger(Government Canada, 2008). In February 2003, Canada and the United States signed a Statement of Mutual Understanding (SMU) to allow the two countries to more effectively exchange information on immigration-related issues and to systematically share information on refugee/asylum claimants.

Use of Technology for Curriculum and Instruction Essay

†Technology should not drive the curriculum; the curriculum should drive the technology,† says Angers (2004). One may ask what does this mean. Simply put, it means that the curriculum should dictate how technology will be used in the classroom. The purpose of this paper is to explain how to infuse technology into the curriculum, and the effect of technology on curriculum design. In order to add technology to the curriculum, technology must be available for use. To be available for use, the technology has to be placed in the classroom by someone – that someone usually being someone from Information Technology (IT). Therefore, collaboration with IT will be required when implementing technology into the curriculum. However, before IT†¦show more content†¦Incorporating technology into the curriculum will also require the aid of the finance department and the board of directors. The finance department will have to approve the funds allocated to incorporating technology. Purchasing computers is not the only expense. Computers have to be repaired, software has to be installed and updated, and additional hardware may be needed in order for the equipment to be fully functional. Newburyport Public Schools (2011) indicated that when setting up their budget, it included the following: teachers and support staff, the actual equipment being integr ated, hardware, software, staff development, technology support, and other contracted services. Once a budget has been set, it all must be approved by the board of directors. Therefore, when developing a technology plan it requires the collaboration of several different departments. Involving other departments in the technology plan is not an option it is a requirement. This author believes that the best way to include other department is to include them in the planning phase. Each department can be represented on the planning committee. If each department is included in the planning, each department can give its department’s prospective on the technology plan. On the 4th floor the message is analyzes to see if it can be combined with some other small messages that need to go to the US Embassy, also if the message was very large, it might be broken into several smaller packages so other secretaries can take it and have it reassembled on the other end. The 3rd floor personnel check the address on the message, determine who the addressee is and advise Maria of the fastest route to the Embassy. On the 2nd floor the message is put into a special courier pouch (packet). It contains the message, sender and destination ID, and warns the recipient if other pieces are coming. Maria then proceeds to the 1st floor where Mr. Boss has leased a limo for the trip. Maria departs for the US Embassy with the secret packet in hand. On the other end at the US Embassy the process is reversed. Maria proceeds from floor to floor where the message is decoded. The US Ambassador is very grateful, saying â€Å"Maria, please tell Mr. Boss I’ll be glad to meet him for dinner tonight†. Of course there are many ways this could be displayed but as long as the steps outlined are maintained in this order the OSI layers are explained very clearly. Violent Crimes free essay sample

I will also go over Violence in the Schools and provide some helpful information to better understand what the crime is and what the law does to protect the victims. School violence, is any form of violent activity or activities inside the school premises. It includes bullying, physical abuses, verbal abuses, brawl, shooting etc. Bullying and physical abuses are the most common forms of violence that is associated with school violence. As the years gone by, the violence at school has gotten more and more frequent and in some cases, dangerous. For example Columbine High School massacre in Colorado in 1999 and how about, Virginia Tech Massacre in 2007. It’s surprising to find out that young students could go to such extremities. Violent Crimes When you think of violent crimes, right away murder or homicide comes to mind, however, Hate crime is the violence of intolerance and bigotry, and also considered a violent crime. We will write a custom essay sample on Violent Crimes or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Intended to hurt and intimidate someone because of their, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or religious. The source of hate use explosives, arson, weapons, vandalism, physical violence, and verbal threats of violence to instill fear in their victims, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks and feeling separated, helpless, skeptical and fearful. Some may become upset and irritated if they believe the local government will not protect them. When offenders of hate crimes are not charged or punished for the crime, it sends a sign that basically no one cares about the victim. When really that’s not the case. I just feel that maybe society wasn’t sure on how to handle and deal with the crime. In 1990, the Hate Crimes Statics Act, the federal government began to gather data about certian categories of hate crimes. Hate crimes are unlike then other violent crimes, hate crimes have an effect on both the direct target and the communities of which the individuals are a member, which makes them different from other crimes. Victims of violent hate crimes may endure from more psychological distress for example, depression, distress, stress, anxiety and anger to mention a few. In 1997, CRS was involved in 135 hate crime cases that caused or intensified community racial and ethnic tensions. As authorized by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, CRS became involved only in those cases in which the criminal offender was motivated by the victims race, color, or national origin. Of all hate crime incidents reported to the U. S. Department of Justices Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 1996, 72 percent were motivated by the victims race, color, or national origin. (http://www. ustice. gov/crs/pubs/htecrm. htm). Of all crimes, hate crimes are most likely to create or intensify tensions, which can trigger larger community-wide ethnic conflict, civil conflict, and even riots. Hate crimes put cities and towns at-risk of serious social and economic consequences. The direct costs of racial conflicts and civil disturbances are police, fire, and medical employees’ overtime, injury or death, business and residential property loss, and damage to vehicles and equipmen t. Hate crime actually affects the whole community. For example, if a riot breaks out, a lot of damage can occur, such as broken windows to homes and businesses, as well as vehicles. Long-term recovery is held up by a decline in property values, which results in lower tax revenues, shortage of funds for rebuilding, and increased insurance rates. Businesses and residents abandon these neighborhoods, leaving empty buildings to be a magnet for crime, and the quality of schools decline due to the loss of tax income. A city may have no choice but to cut services or raise taxes or leave the area in its post-riot condition until market forces of supply and demand rebuild the area. Victims and Perpetrators In 1996, the FBI received reports of 10,706 hate crimes from State and local law enforcement agencies, involving 11,039 victims, and 10,021 known perpetrators. The crimes included 12 murders, 10 forcible rapes, 1,444 aggravated assaults, 1,762 simple assaults, and 4,130 acts of intimidation. Among the known perpetrators, 66 percent were white, and 20 percent were black.

The Schools Donation free essay sample

The donation money graciously given to the school should be used on adding honors and courses to the high school curriculum. An honor’s course is a class that can be taken through the school, a college level class giving the student who completes the course to receive double-credit. The student will receive high school and college credits. The student will be given a certain number of credits helping the student get some high school credits out of the way. The student will also receive college credits, giving them the opportunity to get a head-start on their college career; while saving money at the same time. Adding honors courses is the best way to use the donation money to benefit the most people. Many schools these days are offering their students more than just the basic classes. Today’s world demands more from kids and these honors courses will challenge students into becoming better and brighter people. We will write a custom essay sample on The Schools Donation or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The students will benefit so much from challenging themselves. These courses are given to add depth to the curriculum by giving students the opportunity to pick classes that meet their interest’s and needs. Some students know what they want to be when they leave high school and others don’t; either one is okay, but these courses either let the student start on getting that occupation or allows them to explore and find things they excel at. These days’ kids want to be independent. They want to choose their own path and not listen to Mom and Dad. The student can sort of decide want skills they have and maybe discover something they didn’t even know they liked or were good at. These courses offer such a wide range of possibilities that a student can learn about. You could take a course in areas of English, Business, Math, Social Behaviors, Technology, even Mechanics, and Biology. All of these would give you an advantage taking these courses in high school will look really good on an application for college. The donation money would be a great investment in the honors courses. The cost of adding honors courses depends solely on the cost of that particular class. Each class will be different, but you can count on buying books for every class. The other cost is the teacher; if the course it taken on-line through a college a teacher will be provided, but otherwise a teacher knowledgeable on the subject will have to teach it. This will give a few teachers the opportunity to make some extra money or allow for a couple teachers to be hired. Not all cost is bad. There is one aspect of the cost of these classes that is a good thing. That is the cost that the students will save by taking these courses in high school. College tuition is not cheap, but you can get some of your general classes that you have to take in college out of the way and get closer to earning your degree. There are students who work very hard their whole academic career, and there are those that don’t. I think those students who do work hard should be rewarded for their efforts. These courses will also be a lot more challenging for the student and the grade could be worth more than a normal high school course. This would reward a student who has challenged themselves by being worth more for their total GPA. Our current GPA scale is 4 points for an A, 3 points for a B, 2 points for a C, 1 point for a D, and no credit for an F. â€Å"The GPA scale for an honors/advanced placement course would be 5 points for an A, 4 points for a B, 3 points for a C, 2 points for a D, and 1 point for an F.† (â€Å"Participating in Honors Courses†). The weighted GPA scale would reward the students who worked hard. It would also give a student who may have slacked off a little a chance to redeem themselves by taking harder courses and making up points on their GPA. I know that I had a semester that I became lazy and earned a couple C’s and regretted it. If I took a couple courses such as these I could maybe redeem myself to get a much higher GPA. This increases the chances for scholarships and other academic awards helping one’s college career. As you can tell, there are so many reasons that this is the best choice for the use of the donation. Everyone can benefit so much from adding honors courses to our high school. The students will receive a better education. The parents will be overjoyed at the accomplishments of their children. The school will receive praise and support from the community more than ever. The Plan for a Two

The Plan for a Two Introduction Every year, we experience various forms of disasters, where we lose lives, property, and people are injured. In such circumstances, the business operations usually come to a halt, and this causes the cost of running the business to rise. This cost is occasionally passed over to the shareholders, employees, consumers and other organs of the state.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Plan for a Two-story Office Building in Colorado that Houses 50 Employees specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More However, all these can be managed, thereby, the injuries can be reduced in the event of a disaster, deaths can be reduced and losses in the business can be managed. With a unique and effective disaster and recovery plan for the building, we can manage various forms of disasters. A good disaster and recovery plan for the building is instrumental in ensuring that we formulate a unique plan that is based on the building, whi ch is located in Colorado and houses 50 employees. This paper will evaluate various potential risks to the facility from the natural disasters as well as the man-made threats. The paper will also develop a disaster and recovery plan that is unique to this facility. It is critical to ensure that every plan is effectively implemented in order to realize the full benefits of the plan. For this reason, this paper will give a detailed explanation on how the unique plan will allow the facility to respond to possible events, either natural or man-made. Finally, the paper will describe the actions, which must be taken in order for it to be fully implemented (Gustin, 1996). Evaluation of the Potential Risks to the Facility from Natural Disasters and man-made Threats A fundamental understanding of various complexities associated with disasters is instrumental in the preparedness. The continuity of any business is based on the ability to prevent and mitigate any form of a disaster that may ari se. The understanding of the various forms of disasters that the building is vulnerable to is critical to the developer of the facility. This assists in developing a unique plan, which is effective in dealing with forms of disasters that may occur at any particular time. The understanding is also important for the purpose of fast response in the event of an emergency. It is for this purpose that the plan will be developed based on the evaluation of the various forms of disasters that exist. For the purpose of this plan, the disasters will be classified into two broad categories discussed below. Natural disasters The natural disasters that are common in this region include hurricanes, winter storms, tornados, floods, earthquakes and fires. It is worth noting that fires may also be occasioned by arson, and this paper has classified it under this category due to the natural causes that may result to fire. Each of these causes is illustrated herein. A hurricane is basically a tropical s torm, which is associated with winds that travel at a constant speed of up to 74 miles per hour.Advertising Looking for essay on architecture? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More The speed can be higher, depending on the circumstances of the hurricanes. In normal cases, a large spiral is formed by the hurricanes around the calm centre. This can cause a drastic impact because the winds usually grow with strength. An effective disaster plan is critical because the hurricane brings torrential rains with high winds as well as storm surges. The hurricane may even last for several days (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). The plan for this ideal building is designed to ensure that once the hurricane watch is issued, a good response is affected by securing the physical property. The plan has an ideal evacuation area, where the entire occupant should assemble. The building has link paths that assist the occupants to collectively as semble without occasioning any form of confusion to the occupants. The house will be fitted with effective communication materials to ensure that all the occupants of the facility are effectively informed about the disaster in the shortest possible time. The arrangement of the facility is designed to ensure that all the occupants have an easy access to the exit paths (Gustin, 1996). Tornadoes are natural disasters that are characterized by twisted funnel shaped clouds that create thunderstorms. They are associated with high wind velocity. They last for shorter durations, but they are very destructive on physical properties. With this in mind, the disaster management plan for this particular building is designed to ensure that there are minimal loses to the facility. Owing to the fact that deaths associated with tornadoes are caused by the collapse of the building, the facility in this case is designed to endure pressure from such tornadoes that may hit the building. The building is designed to have a banker in the basement, which can serve as an interior room where the occupants of the building assemble in the event of tornadoes. This ensures that the occupants are secured from windows, doors and other flying objects that are associated with tornados (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). The facility is designed to ensure that all the occupants of the house have access to the interior room. The room is constructed with reinforced a heavy concrete floor and a roof with overhead systems. There are personnel who are assigned to modular offices where the occupants should be moved to. Winter storms occasion devastating effects, and they may last for several days. The winter storm is usually accompanied by high winds, rains or the sleet, snowfall and extremely cold temperatures. The building is structured to withstand the storms and it has a power backup system that is instrumental in the event that the power lines are knocked off by the storms. The building is also fit ted with a heating system because of the low temperatures associated with the storms.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Plan for a Two-story Office Building in Colorado that Houses 50 Employees specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Floods are usually common and widespread and they can be very devastating if they are not well managed. The floods are caused by heavy rains, the melting of the snow, tides and storms among other things. The Building is situated in a high rise landscape besides being fitted with good drainage facilities. In the event of floods, the facility is designed to withstand the floods through the additional drainages that are connected to main tunnels and trenches (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). Fire is hazardous. It is attributed to deaths, injuries and the loss of property. The disaster management plan for this facility is designed to prevent fire through effective training program for the occupi ers. The building is well fitted with fire extinguishers, and the occupiers are given periodical training on their use. The building is designed to have a fire assembly point, where the occupiers can assemble in the event of the fire for the purpose of evacuation. The disaster management structures in the building are designed to ensure that the information is well relayed and understandable by the facility’s occupants. The building is clearly marked with exit signs as well as a definition of the emergency procedures as part of fire prevention strategies (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). Earthquakes are usually sudden shakings of the earth that are caused by the rapid breaking and shifting of the rocks in the earth’s surface. The earthquakes cause buildings to collapse, and this may be followed by a disruption of electricity, gas and others services. However, good pre-planning controls are instrumental in managing the level of disasters. It is clear that a stable found ation of the building may be helpful in minimizing the level of risks associated with earthquakes. The building is designed to have firm concrete walls, because the greatest dangers during an earthquake are outside the building. The walls are well-constructed to withstand the movements (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). Man-made Disasters The man-made disasters are mostly associated with technological incidences and human errors. The main forms of man-made disasters that are associated with the building scenario include the hazardous materials accidents, transportation accidents, terror threats, power failures and civil disturbances. Hazardous Materials include flammables, toxics, explosives, noxious, corrosives and radioactive materials among others. These hazardous materials pose a danger to the property as well as the human beings in the premises. Terrorism is the most heinous modern day crime that targets such facilities. The act causes panic to the occupiers of the building. To avoid this, the facility is well-planned and secured through safe and restricted access systems that are fitted with explosive detectors with manned access points. The facility is also designed to withstand minor explosives.Advertising Looking for essay on architecture? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More The security personnel are well trained to secure the facility from threats, and the occupants are well trained on how to conduct themselves in the event of an attack. They are provided with the contact details of local authorities, who include the police, government agencies, fire agencies and the bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms. These groups are mandated to assist in planning and training of the employees (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). Civil disturbances include rioting, picketing and demonstrations, and they pose a security threat to the occupants of the property. The security personnel are trained to handle such cases. The facility is also fitted with secure doors that are instrumental in locking out unauthorized persons. The windows are secure and fitted with blinds and drapes in order to avoid direct confrontation of the occupants with the demonstrators (Gustin, 2004). Power failure is also a potential source of danger because it interrupts computers, communication equipments, security systems, lighting systems and elevator systems. The building is fitted with stock battery-operated radios and flashlights for combating the power failure. The house is also fitted with an emergency standby power supply system that ensures that the operations of the organization are not interrupted (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). The Developed Disaster and Recovery Plan for the Facility The disaster and recovery plan for the facility is designed to support the growth of the business and it explains the importance of this disaster and recovery plan. The cost of a disaster and recovery project is a priority for the purpose of having good business components. The disaster and recovery plan is essential for the continuity of the business plan. The disaster and recovery plan has been tested and refined for implementation. It is designed to serve as a long-term backup program (Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). The periodic tests and consultations have been instrumenta l in the development process of an effective disaster recovery plan. The audit and defined process are thus said to be a sound investment. It has managed to identify the loopholes by individuals, who have more familiarity with the disaster and recovery plan. The plan has been developed by a team that has a clear understanding of the facility. This is a critical point for the purpose of addressing the infrastructures that are related. Being a multi-site location, the facility requires a comprehensive disaster and recovery plan (Gustin, 1996; Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). The disaster and recovery plan for the facility has an eye on the equipment that is used for the recovery during the disaster. The facility is coordinated by a disaster recovery coordinator, a team leader and other team members. The other persons are designated as primary. The main goal of this is to ensure that there are representatives from all the technical areas of the organization, who have the expertise to d evelop the various recoverys procedures. This also ensures that these representatives are committed to the overall success of the disaster and recovery plan (Gustin, 2004; Federal Emergency Agency, 2006). The recovery plan also addresses the buildings functional areas that need a recovery. This is realized through the order of priorities and cost benefit analysis. This is critical in assessing whether the recovery is worth. The disaster and recovery plan has also incorporated the legal requirements as well as the specific business requirements. The plan has also identified the single points of failure for the purpose of mitigating the risk. This level involves the personnel, software, and other equipments as well as infrastructures. The plan has also incorporated the impact of the failure, the probability of the failure, the estimated incidents, the annualized loss expectancy and the cost of mitigation (Gustin, 1996). Explanation of How the Plan Would Allow the Facility to Respond t o Possible Events The plan is designed to allow the facility to respond to possible events through the recovery of data. It is noteworthy that the recovery may not be up to the point of the failure, but it clearly identifies the process. It has the ability to call all the data feeds on the system through identification. It also minimizes damage on the data, particularly in the distribution process within the environment where the whole process is dependent. It also identifies the action to be taken upon inconsistence of the data (Gustin, 2004). The plan also incorporates the audit trail of work that has been performed during the period. Upon the recovery of the data, there is a validation process, which is designed to ensure that the complete recovery is attained with a consistent within the working environment. The restoration of the operations of the business is also supported by the system through service levels that are defined by the documents. The date is also transferred back to the production machines, which are omitted. In regards to the issue of hardware, the configuration is done through the device names, file systems, operating systems as well as the patch levels (Gustin, 1996). The safety of the 50 employees is also a priority in the process of disaster and recovery plan. The plan gives a detailed account of the transportation of the employees as well as their families. It is also important to note that each of the employees in this case is assigned a role for the purpose of the disaster and recovery plan. Some of the personnel are assigned the back-up in the event of absenteeism of the other members. The plan is also reinforced with frequent audits. The building is designed to have multiple line communication as part of the disaster and recovery plan. The building has a conferencing and emergency communication service, which sends automated massages in the event of a disaster to a platform phone number. Description of the Actions which Must be Ta ken in Order to Implement the Plan There is a third party recovery specialist, who ensures that the organization is provided with workspaces in the event of an emergency. The workspaces are well fitted with the necessary equipments for the purpose of the organization’s business. The workspaces are connected to access the organization’s data in the off-site facility (Gustin, 1996). Upon the personnel rescue and the back-up of data, recovery is the next goal. It is planned based on the back-up of the data in hard disks that are stored in an off-site facility once per week. The data should also be classified depending on the nature of the data at hand. The data recovery plan takes the order of priorities. The security measures of the process include a group of well trained employees within the building, who play a crucial role in the safeguarding of the systems of the company and particularly, the sensitive data (Gustin, 2004). A secure data recovery plan is set through t he development of a proper outline of the action plan. This ensures that the organization resumes its operations quickly, even in the cases of major interruptions. It is critical to establish the activities that are fundamental for the purpose of minimizing the potential losses. The organization also takes all the necessary measures to anticipate and plan for the disasters by placing a plan and a network that are designed to manage the disaster. Although development of the plan is not a guarantee, the exercising of the disaster and recovery plan ensures that the firm with the trained staff is ready for any form of disaster (Gustin, 1996; USDLOSHA, 2005). The disaster and recovery testing is important in the development of an effective disaster and recovery strategy. The fact that this recovery plan can fail makes it fall short, but it plays an important role in preparation for possible disasters that may arise. The evaluation of the effectiveness of all the procedures is thus critic al in the management of the disaster. The employees also act as a part of the team that is instrumental in the performance of the disaster and recovery plan, because they determine what works and what does not work by planning for the unexpected. Therefore, the disaster and recovery plan is a flawless teamwork that requires rapid execution. References Federal Emergency Agency. (2006). Top Ten Natural Disasters-Ranked.
